Performance Review: Hobie Mirage Pro Angler 12

This thing is a beast and performs great on the water. Designed to handle up to 500 pounds you can take just about all the attachments imaginable onto this thing. It is 36 inches wide and comes with standing pads, so if you want to stand up fish this is the boat for you.

It maneuvers like a dream. In deeper water, you can activate the skegs for extra stability. The pedal drive functions in both forward and reverse! And the rudder control is comfortably within reach when sitting on the chair. I always preferred pedal drive, as you save your arm energy for fishing, and this thing is just a dream at that. You can spin in super tight circles, or careen on wide bends.

The Hobie Mirage Pro is one of the most comfortable kayaks on the market. The cockpit is wide and long enough to accommodate my lanky legs. The seat can raise up and down, and each dimension of it is fully adjustable with little knobs near the arms. The mesh seat is super nice. Onboard there is tons of storage in the front and some mesh pockets on the sides.

Conclusion: Hobie Mirage Pro Angler 12
